How does one separate true media experts from all the self-proclaimed “gurus” out there?

Scratch the surface of many of today's self-proclaimed "gurus," and you will find they lack experience, endorsements, and client testimonials.

Experts, on the other hand, have significant real-world experience in their field, solid endorsements from respected peers, and grateful praise from a lifetime of satisfied customers.

A "New Media" expert - for 20 years!

In 1994, when I joined Reuters, I was one of the youngest vice-presidents in the company.

I was eager to prove that the internet (still new at that time) had made sharing information and content incredibly fast, simple, and profitable - even for the world's largest news agency!

That’s why I helped them pioneer the syndication technology that enabled them - and you - to share information instantly with incredible results.

I then founded a company called Kinecta, where as CEO, I raised $30 million in under 2 years from investors such as Canaan Partners, Fidelity, Reuters, and Adobe.

Kinecta was acquired by Stellent in 2002, which was acquired by Oracle in 2004 for $440 million.

At Reuters, Kinecta, and now Be The Media, my mission is to help you widely distribute your products, services, and messages.

Why? Because I want YOU to have the same power, reach, and immediacy of the world's largest news agency.

Get results FAST - learn from the experts!

You can be confident that all the knowledge in this system will give you results, whether you want to become an in-demand, highly-paid keynote speaker or a successfully published author, musician, or filmmaker.

More than 30 EXPERT faculty members will teach you the secrets of their online success. They're the BEST in their fields.

In one complete online webinar success system, together we'll teach you how to build an audience, earn more revenues, and achieve independent success.

Key things you will learn:

How to reach a massive online audience who will love and buy your work.

How to create a professional online presence that will effectively build your brand.

How to become a master at social networking sites Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

How you can be the media creator, entrepreneur, writer, speaker, musician, filmmaker, or broadcaster you always wanted to be – at almost no cost to you.

How to earn a recession-proof livable income with only 1000 fans (customers, patrons, or friends).

How to work independently: being your own boss while owning your intellectual property.

Online reputation and brand management, or how to present yourself as an expert and monitor what others are saying about you.

How to work SMART instead of working hard with proven time management and metrics tools and techniques.

How to use URL shorteners such as bit.ly to increase and track your click-through rate.

Outsourcing the Muck Work

Derek Sivers

Derek Sivers is the founder of CD Baby. A professional musician (and circus clown) since 1987, he started CD Baby by accident in 1998 when he was selling his own CD on his website, and friends asked if he could sell theirs, too.

CD Baby became the largest seller of independent music on the web, with over $100M in sales for over 150,000 musician clients.

He won the 2003 World Technology Award. Esquire Magazine's annual "Best and Brightest" cover story said Derek "is changing the way music is bought and sold ... one of the last music-business folk heroes.”

Learning Outcomes:

Learn about the emerging "artist services" model to outsource the things you are not good at to maximize your productivity

Learn how to identify the things you want to outsource (like publicity and administration), and those you should absolutely do yourself (such as creating great music and fan experiences)

David Mathison is an excellent teacher. What makes his content outstanding is that he has compiled a comprehensive array of "best practices" and presents them in context, so students will understand not only what to do but also why and exactly how.

This is a connect-the-dots approach that is missing from many online courses. Rather than overwhelm and confuse, Be The Media University courses help people put what they've learned to use in their own business or organization."

Outsourcing: Get the job done with VA's

Jennifer Rai

Jennifer Rai
, President and Founder of Today's Admin, started the company in 2005, when she realized that an executive's outsourcing needs do not stop with IT services, printing, and marketing.

Outsourcing administrative services is an ever-present necessity in today's business world. Jennifer understood and saw first-hand that executives of both large and small companies could benefit from using an outsourced or "virtual" administrative assistant.

The Virtual Assistant would support the executive with special projects, in blocks of time, without having to compensate a full-time employee or paying out benefits and overhead expenses.

Jennifer's insight, understanding, and genuine interest in her clients' requirements enable her to make the perfect match between Virtual Assistant and business professional. This perfect match is the partnership and support a business owner needs to develop their business and increase revenue.

Learning Outcomes

What is a VA, and how do you find one that is a good fit for you and your business?

How to transition from doing it all yourself to delegating.

The top five types of support that every business owner needs.

Getting the attention of local media

Jaci Clement

Jaci Clement earned her first byline in a daily newspaper when she was in the fourth grade. She’s been working for and with media ever since.

Today, Clement is executive director of the Fair Media Council, a New York metro area not-for-profit media watch organization that educates and advocates for quality local news coverage as vital to maintaining the community’s quality of life.

In this role, she speaks frequently throughout the United States to business, community, and student organizations about media issues and also writes extensively on the topic.

Learning Outcomes:

What to know before you pitch a story.

How to prepare your pitch to local news media: what will keep them on the phone; what will make them hang up.

Common mistakes people make in dealing with local reporters, editors, journalists, and news directors.

What kinds of stories local media do and don’t cover.

What you need to do after the pitch: how to follow up, and when.

Examples of great pitches, and some lousy ones.

How to create an effective Public Service Announcement (PSA) to help promote your product or service to the public through the media, without spending a lot of money or time.

During Q&A, get constructive feedback on how to make your pitch really stand out from the crowd.

What is the investment?

Individually I offer each course for $199, for a total of $1,999 for all ten webinars. However because this is the very first semester of the Blockbuster Online Success System, I am offering all ten courses, plus three free preview calls, and three bonus classes - for a total of 16 classes  and more than 30 hours of original material  - for only $1,499!

That’s a huge discount from my one-hour public presentation, for which I usually charge $5000.

I spent my hard-earned money - and many years on research - so you don't have to!

In my research for my book and this course, I spent lots of money and many years evaluating online success case studies of businesses and people who have used the internet to establish independent success.

They ran the gamut from prestigious Ivy League academics to indie musicians, and even grassroots activists and politicians.

I revealed this information in my book BE THE MEDIA, which was featured on the front page of the New York Times Business Section after I pre-sold 5,000 copies to only one follower via Twitter, Facebook, and my blog.

Even though the book was over 500 pages long, I STILL couldn’t fit all the information I wanted to about online media success.

So I went on a speaking tour, giving presentations from the United Nations (three times in 2010 alone) to Columbia University, from Berlin to Cairo.

Even though I was often paid $5000 per gig, I still felt like I was only scratching the surface in my one-hour presentations.

I practice what I preach

When I built my new publishing business for Be The Media, I could have used the “traditional” model. After all, I previously raised $30 million in venture and strategic funding, with no sweat.

But that would mean finding investors, setting up a board, and basically losing control of my business.

More importantly, it was essential for me to prove out this new, independent, online model I had developed; where you own your own work, and get to choose your ideal customers and partners.

That’s why you know that everything in the Blockbuster Online Success System has been extensively tried and tested, and WORKS.

Who is eligible to enroll?

Anyone with a talent, skill, experience, message, or dream who finally wants to make a living doing what they love – without having to sell your soul to the failed traditional business model!

Anyone who wants to absolutely master the online game to reach more fans and make more sales.

Anyone who wants to be their own boss, only do the work they love to do, and keep all of their intellectual property rights.

No risk, money-back GUARANTEE

I believe so strongly that our Blockbuster Online Success System will provide you with a thorough, quality education in online media, that I am offering a full 60 day no-risk money back guarantee. If you are unhappy for any reason, I will refund the full price of the course with no questions asked.

So there is nothing to lose, and a whole world of online media success to gain!

Best of all, you can listen anywhere and at any time: all the classes will be archived for you for FREE.

Why do I need to enroll RIGHT AWAY?

Because this is the FIRST time I am delivering the Blockbuster Online Success System, it’s very important for me to have a direct relationship with my students in order to gather feedback and continuously improve the course.

That’s why I’m limiting participation to only 200 seats.

And since I want to reach my students early on in order to better prepare the courses to suit their needs, I have announced the course months ahead of when it actually occurs. This means seats are going to be filling up early, making it even more essential to enroll right away to secure a spot.

YES, I am enrolling in the Blockbuster Online Success System in order to become a profitable online media powerhouse. I want to reach a massive audience, earn more revenues, and finally make a sizable living doing what I love. By completing the enrollment process:

I understand by enrolling I am reserving a seat in all eight courses included in the Blockbuster Online Success System that starts in November, 2010.

I understand my enrollment is completely risk-free. If I am unsatisfied with the content of the Course I can contact Be The Media University within 60 days to receive a full refund.

I understand that enrollment is capped at 200 seats. My enrollment may be denied by Be The Media University at their discretion. I may be placed on the “stand by” list if the Course reaches maximum capacity.

Money Back Guarantee!

Remember, I stand behind these courses.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with the material, simply ask for your money back within 60 days. No hard feelings. There is absolutely NO RISK to you.

You've got nothing to lose, so be sure to enroll now.

"
I just finished an intensive 3-part training with David Mathison on tactics and strategies for increasing your following on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Inspired by David's book, Be the Media, which I refer to regularly, I was looking forward to connecting with him in these courses.

David is a great speaker, a motivating teacher, and really shares lots of information in his courses, all the while helping  students to grasp the larger picture of how to piece it all together into an effective plan.

More than that, unlike in other trainings I've taken, David has helped me to think comprehensively about the power and potential of social media, and how to engage effectively.

And not of least importance is that David delivers all this information in a friendly, sincere and supportive manner, is patient, and has incredible enthusiasm for people's projects and missions."
