Dan Poynter: Author & Publisher, The Self-Publishing Manual (15th Ed)

1. Success at BEA (Book Expo) Conference

Book Expo (BEA) in NYC last month was a tremendous success. We were overwhelmed with people buying advance copies of Be The Media, requesting our consulting services, and booking us for speaking engagements.

The first one in the booth was the buyer from Barnes and Noble! They want to resell the book when available.

Our booth was swamped with buyers - librarians, authors, publicists, teachers, musicians, cartoonists, speakers, licensors, filmmakers, podcasters, bloggers, politicians, and videobloggers.

Here is the Be The Media booth before the show started:

2. Welcome Alex Mandossian

We are delighted to have Alex join the stellar cast of contributors to Be The Media.

Alex wrote a sidebar called "Teleseminar Secrets" for the Be The Media chapter titled "How to Self-Publish Your Book."

Since 1991, Alex has generated over $233 million in sales and profits for his clients and partners via “electronic marketing” media such as TV Infomercials, online catalogs, voice/fax broadcasting, Teleseminars, Webinars, Podcasts and Internet Marketing.

He has hosted teleseminars with many of the world’s top thought leaders such as Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, Les Brown, Vic Conant, Brian Tracy, David Bach, Harvey Mackay, Harv Eker, Joe Vitale, and many others.

Read all about it on the blog. Welcome Alex!

3. New Teleseminar Series

Our new, upcoming, free teleseminar series is designed to use audio to amplify the lessons from the book.

Next month, we'll start exploring Be The Media in depth by interviewing some of our contributors in a teleseminar series.

Take a look at the book's Table of Contents and then let us know what contributors you would like to hear from!

Stay tuned!

5. Next Month: How to build your platform

Q: How do I build my platform and manage my email list?
This is the question I get asked most often.

EVERYONE needs to build and manage their list of contacts  - whether you are a musician, author, filmmaker, insurance agent, politician, advocate, missionary, podcaster, blogger, or boy/girl scout.

In next month's newsletter, we'll teach you how to build your platform and manage your contacts more effectively.

"David Mathison's BE THE MEDIA is the best overall resource available to help you build out your platform."

- Rick Frishman, President, Planned Television Arts
